new beginnings

It's been a while, like over a month, since my last blog.  My apologies (not that i have that many followers).  But i've had a couple things go on recently, today in particular.  

First, last Friday night me, ashley, kevin & amy, amy L., and angela and her new boyfriend go eat at Sol Y Luna in southside.  We heard it was absolutely spectacular food.  Which in their defense, it was.  But what nobody decided to point out was that it was extremely overpriced and under portioned.  It was like being in uptown NY or downtown LA.  Rediculous.  the waitress deceived us about the pricing and portions.  while she told us it was "appetizer sized entrees", she also told us that the "platter" which is supposed to serve the whole table, would be worth it and about $20 per person.  Well me and ashley had one margarita, 2 beers, and a glass of wine, and part of the "platter".  with the 18% gratuity they added in for us, my tab was $100.97.  a bit pricy dont ya think????  well ours was the least out of the 3 couples.  when we complained about the "amount" of food, the waitress talked to us like we were A: retards who couldnt add, and B: poor white trash who shouldnt have came there to eat.  She kept adding up our tickets and telling us the math was right.  well no shit you douche nozzle, we all have college educations, we can add.  Then she proceeded to say "well i dont eat here either.  i dont eat places i cant afford".   Needless to say, this sent ashley into ORBIT!!!!!!!  she was furious.  asked for the manager.  then the manager treated us the same way.  NOT GOOD for them.  so ashley somehow got the owner's email and sent him a message telling him about our displeasure.  still waiting to hear back, if not, she is reporting them to the BBB of birmingham.  So everything in a nutshell, EFF 'em.

On a happier note.  I had to come to Nashville this week for some training.  Well i found out sunday, before i left to come up here, that thru the grapevine, the manager of the store within our company is getting canned come monday.  AWESOME for me, not so much for him.  well guess who was in line next for that store???????????  yep, yours truly!!!  so, after over 2 years w/ CED and more experience in the industry w/ a competitor, my hard work has finally paid off!!! i am officially a manager!!!  i am soooooo stoked!  its gonna be hard b/c im gonna have to turn things around and fix everything he screwed up, but it is so gonna be worth it b/c that is what i have been trained to do and i am so capable of accomplishing it!!!

So, with all that being said, that means i am coming back to the central AL area from huntsville.  which in turn means that i will more than likely be staying somewhere around Gardendale for a little while til i can find us a house.  Ashley has a full time job now, and i have a better job, so we should be able to get a good down payment for a house saved up pretty quick.  that way when in the next couple months when i go buy her engagement ring, :) , we'll be ready!!!!  so things are looking up for us, and i honestly believe it is because we have gotten into church on a regular basis and the Lord is blessing us!!!  So, everybody look for Mr. and Mrs. Adam and Ashley Penn in the very near future!!!!

Rump Rider

Ok.  So let's talk about last night.  My buddy Brad that I graduated high school with posted a comment on his FB about some conservative TV analysts. Brad has become somewhat, ok very, liberal over the last decade.  Not a problem, he is entitled to his opinion, as we all are.  Me and Brad always yack back and forth at each other on there, but its all in good fun.  We both know how each other is, and we RESPECT each others views.  So, as usualy, i made a comment about it and said something about some liberal commentators.  We went back and forth, about politics, with no big deal coming out of it.  

Then i get this notification that someone else has commented on the update.  Well this assclown is from san francisco (and notice how i dont even think that city deserves to be capitalized), or so i thought (details to follow).  Well his comment went just a little farther than it should have, but i didnt really get mad about it.  He said "i dont see how you live down there.  A bunch of parrots.  Polly want a Bible".  Ok, that was a little uncalled for.  

Well i see this, and of course i have to reply, so i went old school on him and told him he was as cool as aids for that comment.  Then he starts in about how he is on FB just to impress me and all this shit, being a smartass.  Then Brad asks him to stop doing this on his wall, and he doesnt. Then Brad asks him to again. So i send the dude a message and tell him to respect Brad and stop.  And tell him he was out of line for his "Bible" comment.  

Well one thing leads to another as we message back and forth.  I tell him that since all people in the South are "Bible beaters", he should be happy in san fran keeping a mouth full of cock!  Hey, stereotypes are stereotypes! san fran = queer town, ya know.  So then this tampon tells me he is from Brookwood, AL, and moved to Hueytown at sometime.  He is 34 years old, and that he aint scared and that i should come to san fran and find him and he'll take care of me.  Look dude, exit not entrance, i aint coming to san fran!!!  Then he tells me that "I rarely visit Alabama but when I do im at my dads or with my buddy in Trussville and youd be taking your life in your own hands going to either place and showing your ass!Id let this go if I were you......."

At this point, i begin to laugh uncontrollably. I believe we all know why!  So i proceed to tell him that he needs to talk to Brad and ask him about me, b/c I'm fairly confident in my skills and that he in no way needs to be running that cum dumpster he calls a mouth.  

Then he tells me that he aint scared of my "big steroid ass". Hmmm, how he know that?????  Then he says "A.I dont care about you and your big steriod using ass!I know you ur big pussy!!U like ganging up on people ive seen it with my own 2 eyes!You had your chance to get you some of this corn fed motherfucker and you backed down!!

i believe we all know that was a lie!!!

SO by this point, i'm thinking "ok.  roids, big truck, cowboy boots.  maybe this cat does know me"  And then the "you had your chance to get you some......and you backed down" part started playing thru my mind.  So i ask him a couple of times exactly when this little fantasy of his took place where i backed down. He never gave me an answer.  But the wheels in my heading are going 100mph by this point.  

Because, love me or hate, as long as you know me, i'm sure EVERYONE knows that Adam Penn has NEVER backed down from a fight!!!  Not to say that in the right situation today, i wouldnt, but in the time frame this pole smoker was talking about, DIDNT HAPPEN!!!  

Well it kept bugging me trying to figure out who this guy was.  Well tonight i got my answer from a buddy of mine who is around his age.  And let me tell you, i laughed out loud, spit some of drink out of my mouth, and my eyes watered from laughing so hard when he told me.  Danny was like, "no.  didnt happen".  Just for the simple fact Danny knows me, and he knows that dude with the over-extended imagination. 

So, all i wanted to say tonight, is that i found it funny that some butt dart champion 3000 miles away picked the wrong part of the timeline of my life to tell me i backed down from him.  I personally found it very amusing, as did my friends that i told about it.  

Moral of the story - dont run your cock washer (pun intended) unless you have all of your facts straight!!!

things that irritate me

First off, lets talk about the high school in California that this week allowed a protest. I have no problem with protests, BUT, at this one, the protesters, of an AMERICAN high school, took down the American flag from the flag pole.  No big deal, right? Ok.  Well, they then replaced it with a mexican flag.  Again, no big deal right? (those who feel that way, you should be ashamed) But what REALLY pissed me off, is that they put the mexican flag on there, then put the American flag underneath it........UPSIDE DOWN!!!!!!! The flag upside down, with another countries flag above it means "we admit defeat and we surrender."  WTF?!?!?!?!  And this is allowed to go on???  In my opinion that should be treated as an act of treason, which by the way, is punishable by death! Not to say that the bleeding heart, tree hugging, nancy supporting, comi, limp dick, gay marriage supporting liberal ACLU bastards would EVER allow that to acutally happen.  But that just really touched a nerve with me when i saw that story.

Now, another thing I am not 100% thrilled about right now, what in the hell is the deal with all the national TV networks being worried about "backlash" from the muslin world if we report anything even remotely negative about the islamic faith???  It seems that anybody in the world can make fun of Jesus Christ with no consequences, but let mohammand's name be brought up in a negative context, and everybody in the world is worried about what the islamic zealots are going to do.  Well ya know what???  When those bastards try to do the things they do, start busting a cap in EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM'S ASSES!!!!  If you dont wanna shoot 'em, take them prisoner, and give them 3 square meals a day, like the UN wants to do, and like obama wants to do, but when they aint eating, toss them in a mud hole, fenced in, with a herd of pigs in there with them.  I bet you will never in your life see a more terrified camel jocky!  they think if they touch a "nasty pig", that they will not get their virgins in paradise.  I'll tell you right now, that if i was in charge, i wouldnt care who thought what of me, b/c i am smart enough to know that WE are smart enough in this country to be "self sufficient" and dont NEED to import, or export. Therefore i would bomb who i want, when i want, and anybody who dont like it, PISS OFF!!! And this leads into my next point:

When the hell did America, the "sleeping giant", get so pussified??? Seriously!?!?!  We used to be feared by the rest of the world.  We were a bunch of farmers who defeated the British Empire, who by the way, people used to say that the sun never sat on the British, b/c they owned so much land on so many continents.  Oh yeah, and by the way, we dropped a little thing called the A-Bomb on Hiroshimo.  And i bet the mayor of Hiroshimo said in the last 3 seconds of his life "What the hell was that?"  Then for a split second, the lives of every single soldier at Pearl Harbor flashed before his eyes.  That is exactly how we need to treat the rest of the world still today.  Let them know, its you, or its us, and guess what???? we aint ready to go!!!!

If we dont get back to the way this country used to be, guess what? We're effed!!!  Realize it or not, but America is an EMPIRE.  And throughout history, there has never been an empire that did not, in the end, fail.  The Roman, Ottoman, Egyptian, British, the Monguls, any of them!!! And they all failed b/c they eventually got away from the principles that their empires were founded on.  And face it, that is what is happening in America today.  Soooooooo, what that means is get ready, its coming.  But guess what???  Adam Penn aint going down without a fight.  Trust me, i'll be on the news as the crazy white guy who went aph shit on some folks!!!  But ya know what puts my mind at ease???  The fact that i know there are a boat load of folks out there, especially in the South, who feel just like me!  So those who dont......Get ready, cause we been waiting 200 years for a second chance!!!

Anyway, that is all i got for tonight, but i have more to follow, but i want to go eat my dinner right now.  

work sucks

I would REALLY REALLY love to hit the lottery so i can just quit my job. It really sucks having to "pay my dues" to be able to move up the chain of command. What the hell was the point in college??? I feel like working full time, making a house note, and going to college full time should have paid enough dues. But nope, here i sit. 28 years old and still not loaded. I kid. I knew i wouldn't be "loaded" by 28, but boy it sure would be nice! anyhoo, im just bitchin.

OK. My manager has walked in here twice now and almost caught me blogging on here, so i'm out !!!

Last Day

Well today is my last day at CED 8816. Come monday morning I'll officially be employed by CED Huntsville. I have enjoyed my time here in Tuscaloosa. I have learned a lot about this business over the last couple of years. I've had some great teachers here, and work with some wonderful people. Lance, our other outside salesman besides me, has been depressed all day. He knows that life as he knows it is going to start sucking Monday morning when he gets to the office. Not only is going to have a bigger work load by taking over many of my customers, but he is not going to have anybody in the office to play around with anymore. Lance has been here with us for a little over a year now, and he has truly become one of my best friends and I will definitely miss hanging out with him everyday, and messing with his computer when he is out of the office. Lance is VERY computer illiterate, so when i do things to his computer, he is at my mercy until I decide it is time to fix it for him b/c he has no idea how to do anything!!! I'm definitely gonna miss Mama (joanie), our purchasing agent, and really is the one in charge, not Jay, the manager. He just thinks he is. And i'm definitely gonna miss Connie, our A/R - A/P. She is a freakin nut. We could sit around and talk to her like she is one of the guys, except that you cant talk about doo doo around her, that grosses her out. Russell has helped me out tremendously since I have been here. He is a freakin electrical guru. If he aint heard of it, it dont exist and you dont know what you're talking about. I have to say, overall, my two years at Tuscaloosa was a very enjoyable one and i wouldnt trade it for much of nothing.

Now, as far as Huntsville goes, I'm not to sure how that is going to go. I had Jay as my boss in T'town, and he knew that I knew what I was doing, and I was gonna get my stuff done and make him some money. He was a mAcromanager. As long as my job got done, he left me alone and was happy to do so. Now Chris (Huntsville manager), from what I hear and can figure out from being around him, he is VERY much a mIcromanager and wants to have his hands in everything that goes on in his location. I don't know how yet I'm gonna respond to that. But I guess only time will tell. I do know, that my apartment up there is less than five minutes from the office. And i'm used to driving just under an hour each way for work for that last three years. So i'll have a little extra time on my hands for the next few months (yes Ashley, FEW MONTHS). So i guess i'll try to spend that extra time in the gym and playing with my pup, Bella.

I know that Huntsville is a little farther from Birmingham than Tuscaloosa is, and I'll actually be living in Huntsville, unlike when i worked in Tuscaloosa. And that has Ashley worried. She is not crazy about me moving up there at all. And all truth be told, i'm not either. I am going to miss her like crazy during the week. But I will be staying with her at her place on weekends and then driving to work from Gardendale on Monday mornings, and coming to see her and stay with on one night a week, like Wednesday night probably. She doesn't believe I'll actually follow thru with it I don't think, but I'm determined to prove her wrong!!! :) It will be hard because we have grown accustomed to seeing each other every day, so it will be different. But you know what they say, "absense makes the heart grown fonder". And I'm sure it will. Because I truly do love her SO MUCH!!! She is a great woman, girlfriend, and friend. I cannot picture my life without her. I have truly found the best girl a guy could ask for in her. She thinks that she never does anything right in my eyes sometimes, but that is very far from the truth. She is just about as close to perfect as I could possibly ever find. She does put me in a mood every once in a while, but who doesn't? It's only natural. But it never really takes me long to get over it. I love her too much to let the little things bother me that bad.

So, while one part of my life is ending, another is beginning. It is not starting out the exact way me or Ashley wishes it would, but I'm 100% sure that everything is gonna work itself out just fine. I just feel in my soul, that God has a special plan for "Adam & Ashley". So, to sum things up, I'm very much looking forward to the future and cannot wait to see what it holds in store for us!!!!

A Revelation

So i was sittin here tonight alone just reflecting about my life. And here is basically what was the only thing that was on my mind.Honestly, a few months ago, I thought my life had taken the low road and things could not have have been any worse for me. Then all of a sudden, the things that I thought were so awful turned out to be a blessing in disguise. My heart was telling me it was broken. And I believed it. But MANY MANY things have happened since then. I always thought I was all grown up and knew everything about myself that there was to know. Boy was I wrong! When the situation came about a few months ago that I went through, I was like "Wow. I can't believe this is happening to me". I had always thought of myself as one of the most not only physically tough people I know, but emotionally as well. For a short while, I actually doubted my emotional strength. But thankfully God saw me through it, even though I questioned him. Then BAM!!! I woke up one morning and thought to myself about how much the situation had taught me. How much stronger it had made me. And how much wiser I am now for having gone through it. And while I realized I had figured all these things out, it still kind of seemed like my lesson wasn't complete. I had sworn to go back to my old ways. I kept thinking about how the "Old Adam" never hurt, never cared, and always had a great time no matter what the situation was. So that was what I thought I needed to get back to. And I kinda sorta did for a while. And to those involved in it, please accept my deepest, most sincere apologies. I was just kinda going along thinking I just really didn't ever want to be close to anybody again.I had built a wall around my heart. A big wall. And it was a wall I thought I didn't want anybody to be able to climb. But recently I have figured out something. I didn't build it so that nobody could climb it, but rather I built it so high only to try to find someone I thought worthy to be able to climb that wall and conquer it.Have I found that certain someone??? I don't know per say. But I can tell you that as of midnight January 1st 2009, I have found someone who has done one hell of a job at making me feel like maybe she is the one who can do it, if she hasn't already! She is beautiful, fun, my friends lover her, and somehow, no matter what, she never fails to bring a smile to my face, no matter what my mood. I'm aware that we haven't been talking that long, only a few weeks. But I do know she still takes my breath away every time she walks into the room. I still get butterflies everytime I'm around her. I never get tired of looking at her pictures. And I'm the proudest man in the building when I walk in with her on my arm. I guess all I'm saying tonight is, I'm blissfully happy right now, and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world!!!!
